The President of Iran Calls for Action in Gaza and Lebanon to “End Israel’s Barbarism.
With a plea for the international community to “bring about a permanent ceasefire in Gaza and bring an end to the desperate barbarism of Israel in Lebanon,” Iran’s newly elected president continued to press Israel’s demands for a larger conflict in the Middle East on Tuesday.
At this week’s annual meeting of world leaders at the United Nations General Assembly, heart surgeon and reformer Masoud Pezeshkian made his worldwide debut at the same time that Israel intensifies its attacks on militants in Lebanon who are sponsored by Iran for Hezbollah.
“It is impossible to ignore the naturally blind state terrorism committed by Israel in Lebanon over the past few days, which was followed by a tremendous aggression that claimed thousands of lives. These states will bear full accountability for any fallout, blocking all international cease attempts.
The Islamic Republic of Iran seeks to safeguard its own security, not to create insecurity for others. We want peace for all and seek no war or quarrel with anyone,” he later added.Israeli Ambassador to the United Nations Danny Danon told reporters Tuesday that Israel’s military strikes in Lebanon were necessary actions to protect Israeli civilians.
