Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs was not Granted Bail Following his Indictment for Sex Trafficking
US music entrepreneur Sean “Diddy” Combs left the Manhattan courtroom on Tuesday, September 17, and walked to jail to await trial.
In a federal sex trafficking case, Diddy is charged with overseeing more than ten years of sexual offenses that were shielded from prosecution by threats of violence and blackmail.
Upon his arrest on Monday, September 16, the 54-year-old entered a not guilty plea.
His attorney exuded confidence.
Mr. Combs is an adversary. He intends to fight through to the very finish. He is not guilty. His goal in coming to New York was to prove his innocence. He is not scared. The charges don’t scare him. Nothing that the government stated in today’s presentation is likely to influence someone’s opinion in any way.”
According to the indictment, Combs was in charge of a criminal organization that participated in or attempted to participate in narcotics offenses, kidnapping, arson, bribery, forced labor, sex trafficking, and obstruction of justice.
The founder of Bad Boy Records is accused of abusing women sexually and physically, concealing it all with the help of his personal assistants, security, and household staff. In order to keep witnesses and victims silent, the prosecution claims he allegedly attempted to pay and intimidate them.
