Ramaphosa Urges world Leaders to act Decisively in order to Put an end to the Suffering of Palestinians

Speaking on Tuesday at the UN General Assembly, Ramaphosa urged international leaders to act decisively to put an end to Palestinian suffering.

“The brutality that the Palestinian people are seeing is a gruesome continuation of the more than 50 years of oppression that Israel has inflicted on the Palestinian people. South Africans are familiar with the appearance of apartheid. We experienced apartheid. Apartheid caused us to suffer and even die. President Cyril Ramaphosa declared, “We will not stand by when apartheid is practiced against others.

Since October of last year, Israel has persisted with its incursion into Palestinian land, murdering, according to Palestinian authorities, at least 41,000 people, including women and children.

The Israeli military says it would take “any necessary steps” to drive Hezbollah away from Israel’s border with Lebanon. The Israel-Hamas war started, and Israel and Hezbollah have been exchanging gunfire ever since. Israel conducted hundreds of airstrikes on southern and eastern Lebanon on Monday, resulting in the deaths of about 500 people and the injuries of over 1,600 others.

For a nation still in shock after a deadly attack on communication devices the previous week, it’s a startling toll. Israel was held accountable for the assaults by Lebanon, although Israel did not acknowledge or refute this.
