Mark Zuckerberg, The CEO of Meta, Testifies in an Antitrust Case

On the first day of a landmark antitrust trial, Mark Zuckerberg, the CEO of Meta, testified to defend his business against claims that it unlawfully monopolized the social network industry. The trial may compel the internet giant to separate WhatsApp and Instagram, two firms that Meta acquired over ten years ago and have since become dominant forces in social media.
Federal Trade Commission lawyer Daniel Matheson brought Zuckerberg as the first witness in an attempt to demonstrate that Meta purchased Instagram and Whatsapp to maintain its monopoly in the social networking industry.
Matheson emphasised a letter to coworkers during the trial that showed Zuckerberg’s dissatisfaction with the lack of advancement in creating a photo-sharing program to rival Instagram’s. I think that’s what I’m emphasizing,” Zuckerberg stated, adding that he always pushes his workers to do better.
Later, Zuckerberg seemed irritated when Matheson questioned him about his worries over Instagram’s rapid growth. When Matheson questioned Zuckerberg about his reference to Instagram’s growth, he responded, “I don’t have the full timeline of Instagram’s development in my head.” “It’s likely that someone else could do it better for you.
