Russia Displays Its Newest Armaments During A Military Conference
Russia is showcasing its newest weapons at a military show outside of Moscow while it is in the midst of its invasion of Ukraine.
Government contracts totaling more than $55 million were inked at the Army Forum 2024, according to the ministry of defense.
The provision of updated flamethrower systems, tanks, helicopters, guided missiles, and anti-sabotage boats are listed as some of these.
The army will acquire over a million ammunition units and over 500 different types of weapons, according to the ministry.
According to Vitaly Bulgakov, deputy managing director of a military corporation, “the general concept of our enterprise is the creation of weapons that will be superior to imported analogues and allow us to have advantages on the battlefield.”
Approximately 110 official military delegations and foreign businesses are expected to attend the meeting, according to the Russian news agency TASS.
It happens as Ukrainian forces, who just over a week ago broke through the border in the Kursk region, claim to be moving farther into Russia.
