Prince William Concludes his four-Day trip to Cape Town, which was devoted to Combating Climate Change
Before boarding the ship for the quick journey to Kalk Bay harbor, William had a meeting with volunteers at the National Sea Rescue Institute station in Simon’s Town, which is close to Cape Town.
William stood on the top deck of the rescue boat as it drew away from Simon’s Town, the location of South Africa’s premier naval facility, sporting a bright red waterproof jacket and sunglasses.
William is in South Africa to promote his Earthshot environmental prize, which on Wednesday night in Cape Town conducted its annual awards presentation. Established in 2021, the prize gives $1.2 million in rewards annually to five environmentally conscious companies.
Through the trip, William has raised awareness of a variety of environmental issues, such as the work of conservation rangers, the danger posed by the illegal wildlife trade, and Cape Town’s efforts to preserve Table Mountain National Park and its rare plants that are unique to the world.
William disembarked from the rescue boat on Thursday to meet with a group of local fishermen at Kalk Bay as part of his agenda for coastal protection and sustainability.
