The Golden Globes’ Cecil B. DeMille Award will go to American Actress Viola Davis

The Golden Globes announced Wednesday (November 20) that US actress Viola Davis would receive the Cecil B. DeMille Award during the 82nd annual awards event on January 5.

Through a variety of strong parts, including “The Help” and “The Woman King,” the star rose to become one of Hollywood’s most admired actors.

Helen Hoehne, president of the Golden Globes, referred to Davis as a “luminary” and praised the actor’s commitment to her work and influence on the business.

Hoehne stated, “Viola is a symbol of excellence and the perfect recipient of this prestigious award because of her bravery in portraying strong, complex characters that have broken down barriers and opened new avenues.”

One of the top honors given by the Golden Globes is the Cecil B. DeMille award. Oprah Winfrey, Clint Eastwood, Denzel Washington, and 69 other Hollywood greats have received it.

For their exceptional achievements to the entertainment industry, the honorees receive recognition.

In addition to being honored during the Golden Globes ceremony broadcast, Davis will get accolades during a lavish luncheon on January 3.

Following his 1993 graduation from the esteemed Juilliard School, the 59-year-old started acting as a career.
