G7 Spotlights Middle East as Trump presents Iran Deal

G7 leaders and invited partner states gathered in Evian-les-Bains as attention switched from Ukraine to the Middle East following Donald Trump’s announcement of a tentative agreement with Iran, with Gulf leaders participating in discussions on regional security and global economic issues.

The Group of Seven’s heads of state and government sat for an official family image among invited partner countries at the summit in Evian-les-Bains, France, underlining the broad international engagement in discussions on important geopolitical and economic issues.

In addition to the G7 nations, special visitors included leaders from Brazil, Egypt, India, Kenya, South Korea, Qatar, Ukraine, and the United Arab Emirates. The summit’s working lunch focused mainly on Middle Eastern developments following the announcement by US President Donald Trump of a potential agreement to terminate the three-and-a-half-month war with Iran.

Qatar’s Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi took part in the meetings, highlighting the growing regional stakes in the changing political scene.
