The Bodies of Victims of the Air India Airline Tragedy are being Delivered to their Families

On Sunday, relatives of those killed in India’s aircraft tragedy queued outside the Civil Hospital’s mortuary in Ahmedabad to pick up their loved ones’ remains. At the hospital, hundreds of the crash victims’ relatives have donated DNA samples. The majority of the remains were disfigured or scorched, rendering them unidentifiable.
Following the completion of procedures, officials loaded many coffins containing dead onto ambulances so that family members could attend funerals. Coffins were spotted being carried inside the cremation by victims’ relatives.
Rajneesh Patel, a civil hospital administrator, said reporters on Sunday that 32 crash victims had DNA matches and that their relatives had been notified. According to him, families have already gathered 14 bodies.
At least 270 people were killed on board and on the ground when the London-bound Boeing 787 crashed into a medical college dormitory in a residential neighbourhood of Ahmedabad, a city in northwest India, only minutes after takeoff on Thursday.
A single passenger made it out alive.
