Names of the Telegraph Newspapers  The World’s Greatest City is Cape Town

For the eighth consecutive year, Cape Town has been chosen by readers of the British Telegraph newspaper as the greatest city in the world. Over twenty thousand travellers voted. In a list released on Saturday, they ranked the South African city first, followed by Seville in second and Sydney in third.

The city is home to well-known sites including the Victoria and Alfred Waterfront and Table Mountain with its well-known cable car. Cape Town is accustomed to winning the title of world’s greatest city. Based on a survey of experts and visitors, Time Out magazine ranked it first on its list in January.

There are many different things to do in the city and its environs. Visitors may take a wine safari through the Cape Winelands’ vineyards or observe colonies of African penguins. The oldest city in South Africa has distinctive architecture as well.

The city’s growing appeal to tourists is reflected in The Telegraph’s rating. In 2024, Cape Town’s international airport handled a record 10.4 million passengers. Tokyo (ranked fourth), Venice (ranked eighth), and Singapore (ranked tenth) are among the other cities in the Telegraph’s top 10.
