A political analyst on Thursday, October 3, said a prolonged period of diplomatic failure made a “regional conflict” possible. Notably, Baraa Shiban promoted strengthening the Lebanese government’s capabilities.

“The Lebanese government does not control their southern border, thus they cannot be included in the discussion if we attempt to do so. Hezbollah soldiers have been firmly established here for a considerable amount of time. They have been planning for this conflict with Israel for a considerable amount of time, and they have constructed a network of tunnels. Therefore, ensuring or strengthening the Lebanese state’s ability to maintain control over its southern border is one thing that the international community could do.
The Lebanese army said that Israel fired upon it on Thursday, October 3. There have been less calls for a truce between Israel and Hezbollah, a military organisation and political party in Lebanon that is supported by Iran.
