Israeli Air Attacks in Gaza kill 72 People While Ceasefire is Postponed

Israel’s military was observed working in the Gaza Strip on Thursday, as Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said a last-minute disagreement with Hamas was preventing acceptance of a long-awaited truce that would halt combat with Hamas and free scores of hostages.
Earlier in the day, Netanyahu stated that a last-minute issue with Hamas was preventing Israeli acceptance of a long-awaited ceasefire that would halt violence in the Gaza Strip and free scores of hostages. Israeli airstrikes, meanwhile, killed at least 72 people in the war-torn region. The statement from Netanyahu’s office came shortly after US President Joe Biden and crucial mediator Qatar declared that the deal had been completed.
The Israeli Cabinet was scheduled to vote on the pact on Thursday, but Netanyahu’s office stated that officials will not convene unless Hamas backs down, accusing the militant organisation of violating aspects of the agreement to extract additional concessions, without specifying which parts.
Meanwhile, Israeli airstrikes killed at least 72 individuals in the conflict-torn region. Hamas sparked the war with a cross-border attack into Israel on October 7, 2023, that murdered 1,200 people and kidnapped 250 others.
