Børge Brende, the head of WEF, has Stepped Down due to Pressure over the Epstein links.

Børge Brende, the head of the World Economic Forum, stated on Thursday that he is resigning because he has been under pressure because of his connections to the late sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. Brende, who used to be Norway’s foreign minister, said in a statement that he had “carefully considered” his decision to resign as president and CEO of the forum, which is known for its annual January summit in the Swiss Alpine resort of Davos.

Brende said in a statement from the WEF, “I am thankful for the amazing teamwork with my coworkers, partners, and constituents. I believe now is the right time for the Forum to keep doing its important work without any distractions.

Brende was Norway’s foreign minister from 2013 to 2017. Since the current release of Epstein files, he is one of numerous well-known Norwegians who have come under examination. He didn’t directly mention the incident in his comments on Thursday, but the WEF said earlier this month that it was looking into Brende’s relationship with Epstein after files showed the two had eaten together and exchanged messages multiple times.
