While the US and Israel Express Objections, the UN Supports the Arab plan for Gaza

A rehabilitation plan for Gaza, led by Egypt and Palestine, has been approved by Arab leaders. The concept, which is currently an official Arab League proposal, lays out a planned course for reconstructing the war-torn enclave and opposes the forced relocation of Palestinians.

The strategy calls for removing debris, resuming vital services, and obtaining foreign money via a World Bank-supervised trust. Long-term urban development is also suggested, along with industrial zones, green housing, and important transit initiatives like an airport and commercial port.

The project seeks to create a new political and security structure for Gaza in addition to rehabilitation. “The plan is not only a technical plan but also draws a new political and security path in Gaza,” Aboul Gheit emphasized. The framework, he added, maintains Gaza’s legal standing as a future Palestinian state alongside the West Bank.

Egypt will convene a meeting in collaboration with the UN to organise international assistance. In order to pacify the area, the Arab League has also urged the UN Security Council to send an international peacekeeping force to Gaza and the West Bank.
