Us Polls: After Biden Backs Vp Kamala, What Comes Next For The Democrats?

Now that Vice President Kamala Harris has emerged victorious from President Joe Biden’s withdrawal of his reelection campaign, Democrats are faced with an unusual challenge this late in an election year.

In August, Democrats will convene in Chicago for their convention.

What was meant to be a celebration of Biden’s career has evolved into a free-for-all where some 4,700 delegates will select a new standard-bearer to face Republican front-runner Donald Trump in the fall.

“Clearly, this is a significant moment in American politics and history,” stated Bill Barrow, National Political Reporter for The Associated Press. “There’s not an obvious precedent.”

Even with Biden’s support for Harris, the road ahead is neither clear-cut nor simple. Regarding finances, politics, and logistics, there are still unsolved issues.

Earlier in the year, Biden prevailed in every state primary and caucus, losing only American Samoa. He has at least 3,896 delegates committed to back him.

Biden cannot transfer them to another contender in accordance with current party regulations. That being said, his support is probably going to have some political sway.
