Thousands Were Evacuated From The Kursk Region of Russia Under Conflict

The Kursk area of Russia, which borders Ukraine, has seen tens of thousands of people evacuated.

When Ukrainian army broke through the border a week ago, they were forced to leave their houses.

Since Russia invaded Ukraine more than two years ago, this was the largest strike on Russian territory that is considered sovereign.

In addition to receiving food and clothing, they are placed in temporary housing centers throughout the city.

“No water, no connection, and no light are present. Nothing is present. It seems as though everyone has vanished to a different planet, leaving you alone yourself. And the birds ceased to sing,” claims Mikhail, an eyewitness.

“Shells were flying, and there were helicopters and planes flying over the yard.” How might we proceed? Everything was abandoned by us.

Another claims that her village had no electricity, no trade, and no operating shops.

While Russian soldiers retaliated against Ukrainian troops on Tuesday with missiles, drones, and aircraft, residents of the border region continued to leave.

The areas of Kursk, Bryansk, and Belgorod are under a “federal-level” state of emergency, according to Russian officials.

400 temporary housing facilities are reportedly prepared to take in evacuees across the nation.
