Succès Masra Promotes Discussion and Unity in Chad

On January 28, 2025, Succès Masra, President of Les Transformateurs, expressed his commitment to work with the current government to maintain the country’s stability and progress. In his statement, Masra underlined his desire to engage in constructive debate, believing that “this is the only way to make the upcoming mandate truly meaningful.” He also emphasised the significance of national cohesiveness and bridging political divides in order to achieve a unified Chad founded on justice and equality.
The political landscape in Chad is changing as the country increasingly builds new elected institutions, including the installation of members of parliament and mayors, as well as the impending senatorial elections. This institutional impetus marks the conclusion of the transitional period and the start of a new chapter in the country’s governance.
In reaction to these changes, Succès Masra has decided to respond to President Mahamat Idriss Déby Itno’s call for dialogue and national unity. This indicates a dramatic shift in the opposition’s stance. After years of tension and protest, the acceptance of the presidential election results and the pledge to work with the present administration reflect a shift towards a more inclusive and pragmatic approach.
