Students at Harvard Come Together to Help their Overseas Peers

Several hundred protesters demonstrated at Harvard University on Tuesday in response to President Donald Trump’s assaults on the esteemed university. The protest was held days after his administration revoked the university’s certification to accept overseas students.

Last Monday, the government warned the hundreds of international students enrolled at Harvard that they would lose their legal right to remain in the country unless they transferred to another institution.

Trump has started a perilous campaign to weaken civil liberties in our nation. As seen by his savage racist assaults on diversity and expression, as well as his partnership with far-right billionaires who spread fascist discourse, student Clyve Lawrence stated.

Trump “wants to control what our students say, think, and believe, according to Harvard student Rae Trainer. Harvard University’s identity has been fundamentally impacted by the Trump administration’s attempts to stop the university from accepting overseas students. In addition to upsetting present and potential students from all over the world, international scholars account for around 27% of the institution’s overall enrolment.
