Russian Ambassador Nebenzya Issues A Warning Against Arming Ukraine

In addition to saying that Russia is “discouraging” all nations from arming Ukraine, Russian Ambassador Vasily Nebenzya told reporters, “I presume that the decision that might be taken on the issue may of course have certain political consequences.”

Since Russia is hosting the Security Council as its president for the month of July, the Russian ambassador to the media today, July 1, discussed the agenda for the council.

In his official role, the Russian Ambassador responded to inquiries from journalists.

In response to a question concerning Afghanistan, Nebenzya stated, “We have always maintained that you must acknowledge the Taliban as the de facto authority on the country and treat them as such. Because this movement is currently in charge of the nation, whether you like it or not. And you can’t just brush that off.

When asked if Russia had removed the Taliban from the list of sanctioned organizations, Ambassador Nebenzya responded, “I cannot tell you a definite answer.” But I have heard discussions about it. However, in general, it’s a good thing that the Taliban was invited to Doha this time.
