Russia Accuses Ukraine of Causing the Explosion that Killed a Senior army Commander

Russia’s top criminal investigative agency reported that a vehicle bomb killed a Russian general on Friday, marking the second attack on a senior Russian military commander in four months that Moscow has attributed to Ukraine.
According to the Investigative Committee, an explosive device in his car near Balashikha, just outside of Moscow, Russia’s capital, murdered Lt. Gen. Yaroslav Moskalik, a deputy chief of the major operations department in the General Staff of the Russian armed forces. Svetlana Petrenko, the committee’s spokesperson, said that shrapnel had been used to construct the explosive device. Investigators were on the site, she added.
Although the committee did not immediately name any suspects, Maria Zakharova, a spokesman for the Russian Foreign Ministry, stated without providing proof that “there are reasons to believe that Ukrainian special services were involved in the killing.”
The world community will once again see the savagery and treachery of the Kyiv regime, which is recklessly disregarding constructive proposals aimed at finding a peaceful resolution to the conflict and betting on a military confrontation with Russia, if the investigation validates the Ukrainian trace in this case, Zakharova said.
