After Being Arrested on Sunday, the Former Prime Minister of Mauritius was Released on Bail

Following searches at various sites, including his home, by commission detectives, he was placed under arrest. He was freed on the condition that he not speak to the public or the media about the matter.

His client has been charged provisionally, according to the former prime minister’s attorney, who refuted the accusations on Sunday. Prior to his Militant Socialist Movement’s humiliating loss in the general elections last November, Jugnauth served as prime minister from 2017 until that time.

Navin Ramgoolam, the new prime minister, declared a public finances audit after the elections. The former head of the nation’s central bank was arrested and released on bail last month after being accused of conspiring to commit fraud.
