In A Case Involving Serial Killings, Kenyan Police Detain Two Additional Suspects
In the course of their investigation into the Mukuru case—in which a suspected serial killer has admitted to killing forty-two women—Kenyan authorities have detained two more people. This comes after the main suspect—whom the police believe to be the perpetrator of the serial killings—was apprehended on Monday.
Amos Momanyi Mogusu was taken into custody by police on Tuesday outside a Nairobi club. The cell phone of one of the victims, Roselyn Akoth, which was discovered in Mogusu’s hands, was used to locate him, according to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI).
Moses Ogembo, a Mukuru resident, was the subject of the second arrest; he sold the phone to Mogusu. Investigators found 154 cell phones when they searched Ogembo’s home. Ogembo acknowledged, when questioned, that he had bought multiple used iPhones from Collins Jumaishi Kalusha, the main suspect in this case.
Additional incriminating evidence, including a blood-stained pillowcase, a t-shirt, and numerous equipment including a hammer, pliers, knives, and scissors, were discovered in Kalusha’s flat, according to a statement released by the DCI.
