Families In Kenya Look For Their Missing Children Following Anti-government Demonstrations

In an effort to locate their son, Tabitha Wanjiru Kairo and her husband David Kairo have been visiting police stations, hospitals, and morgues in search of him.

During recent demonstrations against the finance bill being discussed in parliament in Nairobi, the capital of Kenya, their kid vanished.

Joseph Mwangi, their 28-year-old son, sold anything on the streets to make ends meet, but he had aspirations of joining the military or becoming a police officer to serve his county.

Tabitha Wanjiru Kairo, his mother, has been looking everywhere.

“I have looked everywhere, but I have not been able to locate him. The government ought to search for our children.” The Kasarani Police Station is where I’ve reported him missing, but the officers there don’t seem to be concerned or have any information,” Kairo stated.

Kairo thinks her son did nothing improper. When they last spoke, he informed her that he thought the cost of living in Kenya was getting too high and that he intended to participate in anti-government demonstrations.

As a mother, Kairo is pleased that her son wants to protest; she claims that if she had been younger, she would have also demonstrated against the government.
