Due to US Deportees, the Eswatini Administration is Being Challenged in Court

The Eswatini government is being sued by a collection of human rights attorneys and non-governmental organizations for taking in five individuals who were deported by the United States.
They claim that the covert agreement with the government of US President Donald Trump to take in deportees from third countries is unlawful.
They argue in their legal challenge that because it was not sent to parliament for approval, the government had breached due process.
Furthermore, the men are being held in a jail that is 190% overcrowded, and according to them, no one has had access to the inmates.
In July, the deportees—whom Washington claims are dangerous criminals—were flown into the nation from Vietnam, Jamaica, Laos, Yemen, and Cuba.
According to Eswatini, they are being detained in solitary confinement until their repatriation is possible.
There is indignation in Eswatini, an absolute monarchy headed by King Mswati III, at their confinement at the highest security Matsapha Correctional Centre.
The king had earlier stated that the deal was solely predicated on its positive relations with Washington and that the deportees were not a threat.
Due to the government’s failure to submit answer papers, the case, which was scheduled to be heard in the nation’s High Court on Friday, was rescheduled until September 25.
