Donald Trump Gives Russia 10 to 12 Days to Reach Peace Deal with Ukraine

United States President Donald Trump warned on Monday that Russia would only have 10 to 12 days to agree with Ukraine. Two weeks ago, Trump gave Russian President Vladimir Putin a 50-day ultimatum to reach a peace agreement. The US president now says he sees “no reason to wait.” I want to be generous, but we don’t see any progress,” he stated while visiting Scotland.
Trump has threatened to slap penalties and secondary tariffs on Russia if a deal is not struck. He reiterated his condemnation of Putin for talking about ending the war while continuing to attack Ukrainian civilians.
When asked about a possible meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin, Trump stated, “I’m not so interested in talking anymore. In a post on X, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy praised Trump’s “clear stance and expressed determination.”
The US president nonetheless expressed reservations about placing sanctions on the Kremlin, claiming that he loved the Russian people. “I don’t want to do that to Russia,” he remarked, but he did mention how many Russians and Ukrainians are dying in the conflict.
