Apple is Spending $250 Million to Extend its Ang Mo Kio Campus in Singapore.

SINGAPORE: To expand its Ang Mo Kio campus in Singapore, Apple has revealed plans to invest more than US$250 million (S$340 million).

Two 2022 acquisitions adjacent to its current offices will receive a significant renovation. The tech giant announced on Wednesday that this will bring “three unique spaces together to foster greater collaboration for Apple’s growing teams.

Singapore is the hub for crucial software, hardware, services, and support jobs and acts as Apple’s regional central operations center.

“The new expansion is the latest milestone in Apple’s over four decades of work fostering job creation and deep connections with the local community, and will provide space for growth and new roles in artificial intelligence and other key functions,” Apple stated. With 72 workers when it opened its doors in Singapore in 1981, the company has since expanded to employ more than 3,600 people. Apple claims that it supports over 60,000 jobs through direct employment, its supply chain, and the iOS app economy.

Over the past ten years, the company has also improved its labs and facilities. Since 2019, the hardware technologies center’s space has grown by 50%.

Tim Cook, CEO of Apple, stated: “Singapore is truly a one-of-a-kind place, and we are proud of the connection we’ve built with this dynamic community of creators, learners, and dreamers.
