African Americans are Moving to Africa in Greater Numbers

While President Donald Trump isn’t a direct cause for leaving, many who have done so believe the political climate is, and they point to the urge to reconnect with their past and find a better life.

Auston Holleman, an American YouTuber, has spent nearly ten years living abroad before relocating to Kenya nine months ago. In contrast, he feels socially accepted in Nairobi and chooses Kenya because he feels secure there, stating that he feels the social fabric in the US is “broken. You might claim that people look like me because they look like me. It’s not like traveling to places in Europe or Latin America where there aren’t many Black people.

As a foreigner, he worries about what Trump may say next and feels that the US is at odds with many regions of the world because of its current political climate. He claims that the tensions he is causing in the world are making it more difficult for Americans to travel or live as nomads, as new nations are becoming increasingly restrictive.

Therefore, Trump may not be the ideal option for foreigners, and if you reside in the incorrect nation, it may turn unfriendly against you, and people may begin to express animosity toward Americans in general.
