A Druze Shooter and Syrian Security officers are Deployed in a Suburb of Damascus

Local Druze gunmen and Syrian security personnel have been stationed within the Jaramana district of Damascus. Days of fighting between rebels from the Druze minority sect and pro-Syrian government gunmen have left many dead or injured in this area.
Heavy weaponry will be turned up to the authorities later. The agreement calls for the defence ministry’s personnel to surround Jaramana without entering. Syria’s Druze spiritual leader blasted the government of Syria on Thursday for what he described as a “unjustified genocidal attack” on the minority group.
Early Friday, the Druze religious leadership stated that the community is part of Syria and will not secede from it. They also stated that the state should take over the southern province of Sweida and that authorities should be in charge of the route connecting Sweida and Damascus.
Israel’s air force, meanwhile, launched an attack early Friday close to Syria’s presidential palace after cautioning Syrian authorities against marching on Druze communities in southern Syria.
The assault on Friday was Israel’s second on Syria this week, and targeting a region near the presidential palace seems to be a clear signal to the country’s new administration, which is primarily composed of Islamist organisations under the direction of Hayat Tahrir al-Sham.
