Finnish President Stubb is in Kenya on a State Visit

Alexander Stubbs, the president of Finland, is now in Kenya on a three-day official visit, the first time a Finnish head of state has ever visited the African nation. Finland and Kenya signed two agreements on conflict resolution, peace mediation, and political discussions on Monday.
During a news conference following bilateral discussions, Stubb and his Kenyan counterpart, President William Ruto, underlined their shared commitment to implementing the Kenya-EU Economic Partnership Agreement, which went into effect in July 2024.
Stubb praised Kenya for having a voice on peace and conflict resolution on a global scale.
“Whether it is the war of invasion in Ukraine or weather it’s troubles in the Middle East, Kenya has always been one of those pillars of peace and that is why I’m particularly pleased that we agreed on the memorandum of understanding linked to peace mediation,” Stubb stated.
Stubb also mentioned that he wanted to work with Kenya more closely on economic matters.
“I’m also happy that we have a big business delegation here today because I do think that driving business interests, cooperation is a good way forward, According to Ruto, Finland’s knowledge of education, technology, renewable energy, and climate action “aligns closely with Kenya’s development priorities.
