Within 30 Days, The Dangote Oil Refinery Will be Operating at Full Capacity

Within the next 30 days, Nigeria’s Dangote Oil Refinery—the biggest in Africa—will start up fully. Nigerian entrepreneur Aliko Dangote constructed this 650,000 barrel per day refinery in Lagos with the goal of revolutionising the nation’s energy sector.

The refinery has been producing diesel, naphtha and jet fuel since it opened in January of last year. In September, it will start producing petrol. This action is a component of Nigeria’s plan to increase its domestic fuel supply and lessen its need on imported refined goods.

However, the refinery has had trouble finding a steady supply of oil domestically. Dangote’s refinery is expected to compete with European refiners and possibly export goods throughout Africa and beyond once it achieves full capacity. The refinery promises to be a game-changer as it ramps up operations, lowering the cost of petroleum imports while generating jobs and enhancing Nigeria’s economy.
