UN Peacekeepers Day: Kids Dominate the Show with their Powerful Plea for Peace

The United Nations Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS) held a ceremony Thursday in Juba to commemorate the International Day of Peacekeepers, as the country struggles with a worsening political and security crisis that might return it to war.
The highlight of the occasion was Aluel Mochnom Wuor’s moving call for peace. Speaking passionately on behalf of the people of South Sudan, the 10-year-old schoolgirl urged the world community and her nation’s authorities to put an end to the strife so that kids can have the chance they deserve to realise their goals.
To friends far away, peacekeepers throughout the globe who come to help, heal, and save lives: your efforts are genuine, and your assistance is compassionate. assist us, assist the country, help kids create something fresh. Our hearts long to create a peaceful nation where we may all live together. Leaders, please take a stance against the war. Allow compassion and love to illuminate their path and deliver a serene, bright day. The voice is me. The legal one is me. I adore South Sudan, my homeland. According to Aluel Mochnom Wuor.
