Showdown on Saturday: Pyramids in Rades vs. Esperance Tunis

Esperance Tunis is preparing to play Egyptian side Pyramids at the Hammadi El Agrebi Stadium in Rades this Saturday in the third round of the African Champions League group stage. After one victory and one draw in their opening tournament games, both teams are now level with four points.

“We all acknowledge that our last Champions League match was below our standards, and we didn’t perform as expected,” said Laurenţiu Reghecampf, head coach of Esperance. We have talked with our players and examined the game. We just didn’t play well, and I’m not here to offer an explanation. We must improve our performance and step up our game. We have an opportunity tomorrow night. Playing at home provides a significant advantage.

Pyramids won their opening game against Sagrada of Angola and then drew away against Djoliba of Mali. Ahmed El Shenawy, the goalie, said, “Esperance is a strong squad with a lot of African Champions League experience. Despite being new to these competitions, our team has already encountered difficulties in African football. I’m hoping our players maintain their concentration and put on a solid showing. I’m happy to be here in Tunis and wish us well. Conversely, Esperance tied with Sagrada in their second game and defeated Djoliba in their first.
