NBC News Reports That the Trump Administration is Creating a Plan to Relocate one Million Palestinians to Libya

According to NBC News, Washington is now developing a plan to relocate up to one million Palestinians from the Gaza Strip to Libya permanently. The site claims that the Libyan administration is already discussing the concept.

If it approves the plan, the government may return billions of dollars in cash that the United States froze more than ten years ago to Libya. It is also claimed that Israel is aware of the intentions. The National Security Council and the US State Department have refuted the claims.

According to NBC, there would probably be major challenges in the attempt to relocate up to a million people in Libya. It’s unclear how the Trump administration would try to finance the proposals, which might be quite costly.

Arab countries have already stated that they will assist in reconstructing Gaza following the conclusion of the conflict there, but they have criticised Trump’s proposal to relocate Palestinians there permanently.

As Trump first said in February, it’s unclear if the relocation plans would also involve the United States annexing Gaza and transforming it into the French Riviera of the Middle East. Relocating Palestinians would amount to ethnic cleansing, according to experts.
