In High-Level Meetings in Moscow, Russia and Tanzania Strengthen Their Strategic Ties

Tanzanian Foreign Minister Mahmoud Thabit Kombo met with his Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov in Moscow on Monday. This is the most recent indicator that the two nations’ ties are getting stronger.

During the meeting, Kombo delivered a letter from Tanzanian President Samia Suluhu Hassan to Russian President Vladimir Putin. This showed that Dar es Salaam was serious about increasing ties between the two countries.

After the talks, Kombo commended the Russian officials for what he called their efforts to improve relations between the two countries. In a recent speech to diplomats and foreign organisations headquartered in Tanzania, President Hassan talked about how important it is to work together strategically with Russia.

In recent years, Russia and Tanzania have worked together more and more, especially in military, trade, and energy. This is because Moscow is increasing its diplomatic and economic presence in Africa.

Lavrov was happy with the increasing friendship and said he was happy with how well the two countries worked together in international forums. He talked about working together at the UN and in the bigger picture of Russia’s strategic involvement with Africa.
