Putin Claims That Yearly Trade Between Russia and India will Increase

After meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin on Friday, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi praised the partnership between Moscow and New Delhi. Putin was in India for an annual meeting, and while the US is pressuring India to change its long-standing relationship with Russia, both countries decided to broaden their economic ties.

The 23rd Russia-India Summit takes place at a critical juncture as the United States seeks international collaboration while pushing for a peace agreement with Ukraine. As the nearly four-year crisis in Ukraine continues, it will put New Delhi’s attempts to maintain a balance between relations with Moscow and Washington to the test.

Following the discussions, Putin and Modi declared that India and Russia had agreed an economic cooperation program that would help diversify bilateral commerce and increase yearly trade to $100 billion by 2030. Strong energy linkages were also highlighted. The friendship between India and Russia has stood firm like a pole star even in the midst of all the challenges and crises that humanity has had to endure,” Modi remarked.
