Momentum Builds for Cameroon’s Presidential Election as Contenders Submit their Applications for the October Poll

Cameroon formally launched the nomination process for its October presidential election on Monday. However, things didn’t pick up steam until Thursday, when President Paul Biya submitted his candidacy through Jean Nkuete, his stand-in.
Given that the Cameroonian people are old enough to understand the distinction between what is done and what is being done, we have just submitted the file of the National President of the CPDM for the position of President of the Republic,” Nkuete informed reporters. A statement from PCRN Cabral Libi came shortly after. However, SDF commander Joshua Osih met with his supporters on the Bamenda side.
The historic Social Democratic Front candidate dropped over his paperwork at Elecam’s North-West regional office. A momentous day for Osih in a town afflicted by the crises in the English-speaking areas of the nation.
After declaring his candidacy, Osih told reporters, “It’s very important to know that we have a political identity, and this political identity has its roots in this town.” And for that reason, this city is home to our national headquarters. Therefore, it was implausible that we would file somewhere else.
