As Morocco’s Legislative Elections Draw Near, Parties Step up Their Campaigns

On September 14, Faouzi Lekjaa, Mehdi Bensaid, Minister of Youth, Culture, and Communication, and other candidates from the Authenticity and Modernity Party (PAM) travelled to Rabat as part of their election campaign to speak with locals in person.

In the first legislative election since protests spearheaded by young Moroccans broke out in the autumn of 2025, Moroccan voters will cast ballots on 23 September to choose a new House of Representatives.

The Authenticity and Modernity Party, often known by its French initials PAM (“Parti authenticité et modernité”), is aware of the high expense of living, according to Faouzi Lekjaa, President of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation.He continued, “We want to use all legal means to restore living standards to their previous level.”

Lekjaa ultimately chose not to run for a parliamentary seat, despite the initial expectation that he would run in his native Berkane. Instead, he has been supporting the candidates of the Authenticity and Modernity Party and participating in their campaign.
