Under Agilitas, one8 Stands to Become India’s First High-Performance Sports Brand with Global Aspirations

One8, a sportswear brand co-founded by Virat Kohli, has been acquired by Agilitas Sports, the vertically integrated manufacturing-to-retail sports platform founded by Abhishek Ganguly. As part of the deal, Kohli becomes a co-founder of one8 and an investor in Agilitas, strengthening their long-standing collaboration and advancing the goal of creating India’s first international high-performance sports brand.

Agilitas has been significantly growing its capabilities in manufacturing, R&D, brand-building, and retail distribution. The business expanded its potential both domestically and internationally in 2023 when it purchased Mochiko Shoes, the biggest sports footwear producer in India.

After years of chats and mutual respect for discipline and sport, Kohli and Ganguly’s partnership developed naturally. What started off informally quickly became one8. Strategic alignment and a common long-term vision are the reasons behind Kohli’s decision to bring one8 under Agilitas. Citing Agilitas’s integrated strengths in design, manufacturing, R&D, and nationwide distribution, Kohli chose to become a shareholder in the company rather than invest only in the brand.
