Seville Hosts the First Conference on Funding for Sustainable Development.

World leaders convened in the southern Spanish city of Seville on Monday for a four-day summit on sustainable development and how to address global challenges, which range from poverty and conflict to climate change.

With the approval of the Sevilla Commitment, or Compromiso de Sevilla, a statement outlining the leaders’ determination to take action in support of the UN 2030 Sustainable Development Agenda, the Fourth International Conference on Financing for Development (FFD4) got underway. They will, above all, look for methods to bridge the $4 trillion financing shortfall for the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), a UN framework that provides solutions to major challenges including poverty, hunger, and climate change.
